Bouquet or flower arrangement? Choose by where the flowers will go

19 October 2026 · 2 min read

You've chosen the colours and set the budget, but one question remains: bouquet or arrangement? The difference isn't just about looks. It matters how the flowers are received, placed and cared for.

By bouquet we mean a composition of tied stems that will go into a vase. An arrangement is made in a container or on a base; its construction can vary, and care instructions should be requested for the product you choose.

The bouquet: the freedom to rearrange it

A bouquet suits a recipient who has a vase and enjoys finding a place for flowers at home. It can be moved from one container to another or later split into small compositions.

It's also an easy gesture to picture: you hand it over, the person holds it in their arms, then puts it wherever they like. If a long evening out is coming up, though, talk in advance about how it will be kept and carried.

The arrangement: a place planned from the start

An arrangement can be right when you want a composition with the container included. Check exactly what the product includes: not every decorative wrapping is also a vessel for water.

Ask about size and weight, especially if the flowers will sit on a small desk or be carried further. A beautiful container also has to suit its place.

For the table, think about height too

At a table where people sit facing each other, we suggest an arrangement that doesn't block their view. Measure the space available after setting out the plates and glasses.

One large piece isn't always the answer. A few small containers can be moved easily during the meal and leave room for the food. For an event, ask for a proposal based on the number and shape of the tables.

Neither option means “no care”

Even if the container is included, the flowers need attention. Ask for care instructions specific to how the arrangement is built; the routine for a bouquet in a vase doesn't automatically apply to every composition.

Before you choose, tell us three things: where the flowers are going, who is receiving them and how much space there is. Write to us for a recommendation or explore the shop.
