What do the colours of a bouquet say? Your story comes first

A bouquet can say “I missed you”, “I was thinking of you” or simply “today”. Colour gives it a first voice. The card and the context give it meaning.
The meanings of flowers differ between people, families and traditions. That's why we like to start from the preferences of the person receiving the bouquet, not from a dictionary that decides what they should feel.
Red, when you want a clear presence
For a romantic gesture, red can be an expressive choice. If the person prefers intense shades, a single-colour arrangement can have exactly the right simplicity.
But a romantic gift doesn't have to be red. A colour linked to your first meeting or a place you love can say more than a convention.
Pink and light tones, for a gentle gesture
A palette of pink, cream and powdery shades can support a soft composition. We would choose it for someone who appreciates subtle details, whatever the occasion.
To keep it from becoming too uniform, you can ask for differences in texture or a little variation between tones. The florist can suggest a combination based on the flowers available.
Yellow and orange, for those who love colour
For someone who wears bright colours and enjoys them, a warm palette is a natural starting point. Don't rule it out because of a superstition if you know they like it.
If you don't know the recipient's preferences, you can choose a bright accent within a more muted arrangement. Not every flower has to draw attention in the same way.
White and green, with an eye on the context
We see this combination as a calm, orderly option. Still, personal experiences and family customs can influence how it is received.
When in doubt, explain the occasion to the florist. Especially for sensitive events, the context matters more than a colour association.
Add your own words
“I chose this colour because it reminded me of your garden.” A single sentence makes the bouquet personal and removes the need to guess its meaning.
